Born and raised in Minnesota, Chris attended college at Drake University in Iowa. In 2012, he graduated cum laude with a degree in Finance and Accounting. During his junior year, he became interested in the law, purchased a handful of used prep books on Amazon, and self-studied for the LSAT. He received a considerable scholarship to attend the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, a national top 25 law school. He excelled in law school, served on the Arizona State Law Journal, participated in multiple externships with the federal judiciary, and graduated cum laude in 2015. After graduation, he tied for the second highest score out of more than 600 applicants on the Arizona bar exam.
Before beginning private practice, Chris served as a law clerk to the Honorable James A. Teilborg of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona. After clerking for Judge Teilborg, Chris worked as an attorney in our department for approximately three years before returning to the federal courts to clerk for the Honorable Bridget S. Bade of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
